How to renew Indian Passport (normal)!

Indian Passport renewal is very easy now, just follow 3 step's

1. Apply online and get appointment date

2. Meet with documents, and

3. Attend for Police verification

To apply online, Click the website link www.passportindia.gov.in 

A Page will display look like under

Register with your email ID and Phone number

Login and fill up with details. Keep in mind that Address proof and any birth proof need to get ready in PDF format before starting to fill up the online application form.

After submitting the form you can upload the mentioned documents. You can find nearby passport seva kendra in your state. Take appointment with available date and make payment online. Online formalities will be completed after making payment.

Whatever documents you have mentioned during form filling up, you need to bring its original along with your expired Passport on the date of appointment. And don't forget to take a Xerox of all documents although Xerox machines are available in PSK.

You need not to take printout of acknowledgement but you have to show SMS of your appointment which has been sent you after submitting online application and payment.

No photograph required, official takes photograph and fingers print in front of them.

Once you will enter PSK, follow 3 phases- 

1. take token no. by submitting xerox copies and appointment no. 

2. Wait and see in screen for your no. to get your counter for verification, photo and fingers print.

Hostress can offer you to buy a passport cover with additional cost, however you can refuse to buy the same. You can buy SMS service to get your passport status with Rs. 50/- the cost of SMS service may differ time to time.

And 3. Again wait and watch screen to get your counter for Old passport Cancellation process. You can exit once your old passport will be cancelled.

You need to wait 15 to 30 days to get your passport by post. You will be able to attend police verification after receiving your passport.

Police verification: if you activated payed SMS service by Passport office, you will get an SMS that "your Police verification process is initiated" you can contact nearby police station, generally police calls to applicant once they receive consignment, even they can come to your correspondence address.

What are the documents required during police verification of Passport?

All documents that you have mentioned during apply, SSC certificate, 1 copy photograph, your rent agreement if you are in rent, previous years rent agreements, to see from how long you are staying in this location and Society letter mentioning since how many years you are staying in this location. If you have your old any police verification copy, it will be added advantage.
